Platforms — PS5, Xbox & What About PC?

GTA 6 launches exclusively on current-generation consoles: PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version — the game's map density and NPC systems require current-gen hardware.

Both Sony and Microsoft platforms get the game on the same day. No timed exclusivity deals have been announced.

⚠️
PC players: Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version of GTA 6. No PC release date, price or system requirements exist. Based on GTA 5's release pattern, a PC port is widely expected around 2027–2028, but that is a prediction — not an official announcement.

How to Pre-Order GTA 6

Pre-orders are live now. Here's where to buy:

Orders placed before November 20 qualify for the Vintage Vice City Pack regardless of edition. Digital preload opens November 12 — a week before launch — so you can hit play the moment servers go live.

About the physical edition

The physical version of GTA 6 ships in a retail box but contains a download code, not a Blu-ray disc. This lets retailers ship copies early so players can preload the game from November 12. If you were hoping for a disc-based copy, this is not it.

What Is GTA 6 About?

GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, centered around a reimagined Vice City — Rockstar's version of Miami and South Florida. The game features two playable protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style pair. Lucia is the first non-optional female protagonist in the mainline GTA series.

Rockstar has described it as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet." Note: no GTA Online details have been confirmed for launch.
